Mountain Home’s junior high girls’ basketball teams saw losses Monday as they welcomed Greene County Tech to the Twin Lakes Area. The junior varsity team lost its match to Green County Tech 17-42. Top scorers included Ashley Smith with 5 points and Alma Kent with 4 points. The varsity team where also unable to defeat their opponent with a final score of 19-41. Addison McCarn and Makenna Miller led as top scorers.
The junior boys teams where on the road to Batesville and saw wins in both games. The ninth grade game saw the Bombers win with a score of 39-19. Top scorers where Cody Cormican with 14 points, Gus Wilber with 10 and Bailor Tate with 8. The eighth grade team also took the win with a score of 36-5. Brody Brown and Tanner Alkire where the top scorers in that game.
The second day of the the Izard County Tournament saw action yesteday at the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center in Highland. The junior girls’ game saw Calico Rock defeat Izard County 34-14. Melbourne took the win over Cave City 42-25 in the junior boys’ game. On the senior level Izard County girls beat out Cave City 59-48 and the senior boys from Highland saw a victory over Melbourne 50-48.
