A former area basketball coach is among the newest inductees into the Arkansas High School Coaches Association (AHSCA) Hall of Fame. Former Bergman and Jasper boys’ coach Steve Lynch will be part of the Class of 2024 during the summer.
Between the Panthers and the Pirates, Lynch had a combined total of 704 victories. His teams won 10 district and 10 conference championships, six regional titles and reached the state tournament 16 times.
Lynch was nominated as AHSCA outstanding coach of the year 11 times. He was also selected to the coaching staffs of the AHSCA All-Star Game in 1998, 2017 and 2019.
Lynch will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame during the annual banquet on July 12 in Hot Springs.
