
This week the Baxter County Farm Bureau Board and Young Farmers and Ranches Committee announce the December Ag. Student of the Month, Haylee Silzell.Silzell is a member of the Mountain Home FFA Chapter where she serves as the Chapter Vice President and has been an active member for the past four years. She is involved with showing cattle on the FFA show team where she exhibits Angus and Simmental Heifers at the county, district and state fair levels. When not showing, she competes in FFA Career and Leadership Development events including categories such as job interview, vet science, food science, FFA knowledge and conduct of chapter meetings.
Silzell states, “My Favorite Memory from my FFA experience would have to be seeing my goals get achieved through all my hard work. I am proud to say that I exhibited the Grand Champion percentage Simmental at the Arkansas youth expo in 2023. I also was inducted into the Arkansas State Fair Purple circle for exhibiting the Grand champion Simmental in 2022. I also won the high point supreme heifer of the Arkansas Junior Cattleman’s Association for 2022. I will always cherish the achievements I have made throughout my FFA experience.”
