MHHS girls dominate, freshmen fall at Paragould

The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team was dominant in its last road trip of 2023. The Lady Bombers routed Paragould 59-21.

It was a game in which the Lady Rams struggled all night against Mountain Home’s defense. Paragould committed 34 turnovers in the game. In addition, Mountain Home was able to get 12 different players on the scoreboard. The mercy rule was invoked the moment the final quarter started as the Lady Bombers went on to win by 38.

Jayla Yonkers led Mountain Home with 12 points, and Laykin Moore added 10. No one was in double figures for the Lady Rams.

Paragould falls to 1-9 on the season. The Lady Bombers improve to 8-4, and they’ll host Nettleton on Tuesday to begin their next home stand.

Mountain Home’s freshmen did not fare as well they fell to Paragould 29-16. The Junior Lady Bombers drop to 1-7 on the year.
