
Basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule as Mountain Home will be among the high school boys’ teams taking part in the North Arkansas College Border War Shootout at Harrison. Every game will pair an Arkansas school with a Missouri school, and the Bombers’ opponent will be Fair Grove.
Mountain Home is currently 8-3 on the season. The Bombers’ last game was Tuesday when they fell at home to Rogers. Fair Grove has a record of 4-1. The Eagles picked up an eight-point win Friday over Ash Grove.
Tip-off at the Pioneer Pavilion is scheduled for 5. Saturday’s game will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Two other games will feature area teams in the Border War Shootout. Valley Springs meets New Covenant Academy at 3:30, and Harrison faces West Plains at 6:30.
The Billy Ply Boys’ Classic will come to an end at Flippin. Kingston and Woodlawn will tip off at 10, Flippin takes on Harrisburg at 11:20, Tuckerman plays Greene County Tech at 12:40, Cotter will be paired with Tech’s junior varsity team at 2, and Jasper meets Marmaduke at 3:20.
The Battle of the Border will come to an end at Mammoth Spring. Viola’s girls face Willow Springs for the consolation title at noon. In the championship games, the Mammoth Spring girls take on Thayer at 6, and Izard County’s boys play the host Bears at 7:30.
The Bakersfield girls will be in Weaubleau for their game in the OCHC Shootout. The Lady Lions will be matched up with Wheatland at 11:30.
