The Izard County High School girls’ basketball team dominated its opener in the NEA Tournament Wednesday at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. The mercy rule was invoked as the Lady Cougars routed Bay 63-33. Izard County improves to 8-5 on the season, and they’ll return to First National Bank Arena next Wednesday to meet Buffalo Island Central in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
