
Viola High School split its makeup basketball games with Greers Ferry West Side on Thursday. The Lady Longhorns defeated the Lady Eagles 59-44. The boys’ game had a different result as Viola lost to West Side 54-40.
The Salem High School girls came up just short on Thursday when they went to Jonesboro. Nettleton scored on a putback as time expired to get past the Lady Greyhounds 62-60. Marleigh Sellars led Salem with 28 points, and Maddie Keen added 12. The Lady Greyhounds fall to 10-3 on the season.
Melbourne’s boys had a successful road trip. The Bearkatz were able to come away with a 56-52 victory over Manila.
Valley Springs had mixed results as they went to North Little Rock to meet Central Arkansas Christian. The Lady Tigers routed the Lady Mustangs 53-25. Valley Springs did not fare as well in the boys’ contest as they were doubled up by CAC 60-30.
