MHHS teams to play Farmington for Ultimate Auto Group Basketball Tournament titles

High school basketball dominates the last Friday of 2023 as the Ulitmate Auto Group Basketball Tournament comes to an end in Mountain Home. Both of the host teams will be paired with Farmington in the championship games.
The Lady Bombers are 11-4 following their win over Dumas on Thursday. The Lady Cardinals are 18-1 after getting past Cabot in the other semifinal. This is the second meeting between these two teams. Mountain Home lost to Farmington 63-41 on Nov. 8 in the semifinals of the Jake Gray Invitational at Valley Springs. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:20.
In the other girls’ games at Bomber Gymnasium, Flippin and Mammoth Spring tip off at 10 for the consolation title, and Cabot meets Dumas for third place at 12:40. The seventh place game between Salem and Paragould starts at 10 in the junior high gym.
Mountain Home’s boys go into the finals with a mark of 12-3 after getting past Dumas on Thursday. Farmington is 16-2 after routing Paragould. Gametime is set for 4:40.
In the other boys’ games at the Hangar, Flippin faces Greene County Tech for the consolation championship at 11:20, and Paragould takes on Junction City for third place at 2. Cotter plays Junction City for seventh place at 11:20 on the junior high campus.
Both of Mountain Home’s games will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

The North Arkansas College Invitational Tournament will hold its semifinal round at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. The girls’ game between Norfork and Valley Springs tips off at 4, Mountain View and Jasper will play a doubleheader starting with the boys at 5:20, and the Marshall boys will be matched up with Valley Springs at 8.

Viola’s girls will play for third place in the Lady Blackhawk Holiday Invitational at Pea Ridge. The Lady Longhorns meet Mena at 2:30.

The Bakersfield boys will play their final game in the Twelve Courts of Christmas at Kansas City. The Lions face Palmyra at 2:30.

Two area boys’ teams will conclude action in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Dora takes on Salem, Mo., for the consolation title at 2, and Gainesville plays the host school for fifth place at 3:30.

Three area boys’ teams will play their final games in the Maverick Division of the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational at Highland. Mammoth Spring goes up against Charleston for seventh place at 10, and Izard County faces Melbourne for third place at 3.

Izard County’s girls will compete in the Division 2 semifinals of the NEA Tournament at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. The Lady Cougars meet Marked Tree at 10:30.

The Melbourne girls will take part in the semifinals of the Goldfish Classic at Lonoke. The Lady Bearkatz take on Quitman at 4.

Friday will be the second day of the Lendel Thomas Classic at Goblin Arena in Harrison. On the girls’ side, Marshall and Earle tip off at 3, and Harrison plays Highland at 6. In the boys’ games, Marshall will be paired with Carthage, Mo., at 4:30, and Harrison meets Earle at 7:30.

The CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament will come to an end at Berryville. Omaha’s girls will play for seventh place at 10, and their boys will play for the consolation title at 2. Both of Bergman’s teams will compete for the championship starting with the girls at 6.
