A Boone County man is facing domestic battery charges after assaulting the victim over medications.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on January 8, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Before the call was dropped, the victim told dispatchers she was bleeding from behind her ears and face.
Upon arrival, deputies observed broken glass on the garage floor. When they knocked on the door, deputies asked the male, later identified as 51-year-old Bobby Ralph Harvill of Harrison, to exit the residence. Due to the nature of the call, deputies informed Harvill they would detain him, but Harvill ignored deputies, went back inside the residence, and attempted to shut the door. Deputies deployed their tasers in an attempt to gain control, and once inside, Harvill continued to resist arrest.
Once Harvill was detained, deputies walked him into the garage to sit and wait for EMS to arrive. Deputies reported Harvill laid down on the ground and stated he was allegedly having a heart attack before he sat up and began yelling at the victim.
After Harvill calmed down, deputies asked him what had happened. He stated the victim was keeping his medications away from him and wouldn’t let him have any more before she “threw a fit and destroyed the house.” When EMS arrived, Harvill refused medical assistance before he was placed in the patrol car.
The victim reported to deputies she went to town to get Harvill his medications. When she “took too long,” Harvill began to break everything inside the home.
The victim stated when she arrived home, Harvill hit her in the face. She said the next thing she knew, she was on the ground with his forearm against her throat. She said Harvill grabbed her ears as if he was trying to rip them off. While she was on the ground, the victim stated Harvill grabbed a bucket of water and poured it on her head. She stated before she blacked out for a short time, she recalled Harvill punching her on the right side of her head. Once she came to, she grabbed her phone and attempted to call the Sheriff’s Office. While on the phone, Harvill took her phone and threw it into a nearby fish tank. The victim stated she was able to retrieve her phone from the fish tank before locking herself in the bathroom.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. Harvill was arrested and charged with one felony count of second-degree domestic battery and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, terroristic threatening, and interference with emergency communications.
Harvill was booked and released from the Boone County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. He was ordered no contact with the victim and is scheduled to appear in court on February 6.
