
The ASU-Mountain Home baseball team was able to pick up another dominating victory on Thursday. The Trailblazers went down to Sterlington, Louisiana, and routed Southern Arkansas University Tech 15-1.
ASU-Mountain Home’s scoring began in the first inning on a two-run single by Jason Young. There were plenty more runs plated by the Blazers, including a solo home run by Sammy Lemond in the sixth frame. Seven runs came across in the seventh for ASU-Mountain Home. Kendall Brookins brought in a run as he was hit by a pitch, Christopher Tillery and Lemond each provided an RBI single, and Alex Harrell blasted a grand slam over the left field fence.
Trent Jordan was the winning pitcher as he went 5 2/3 innings, struck out five batters and gave up four hits, six walks and a run. Trenton Smith came in for 1 1/3 shutout innings with one hit and one walk.
Young led the Blazer offense by going 4-for-5, and Lemond was 2-for-3 with two walks. Kolby Webb and Tristan Wheelus also drew two bases on balls each.
ASU-Mountain Home improves to 14-4 on the season.
