FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 19 Arkansas Razorback softball team propelled to a 4-1 win vs. No. 11 Missouri Sunday afternoon at Bogle Park to clinch their second consecutive top-15 series win.

Arkansas improves to 28-10 overall and 7-5 in league play. The victory marks the Hogs’ third ranked series win and seventh ranked win of the season. The Razorbacks claimed their first series win against Missouri since 2018.

It was a scoreless affair until the fifth inning. RHP Morgan Leinstock (10-2) earned the win, her second of the weekend, after effectively spinning 6 2/3 frames and checking the Tigers to just one run on five hits while fanning seven batters. The Scottsdale, Ariz., product worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first and kept Missouri off of the board until the fifth. After a single plated the Tigers’ lone run, Leinstock worked around a runner at second with two down by dialing up a strikeout to limit the damage. Leinstock retired the final six batters she faced before turning the keys over to LHP Robyn Herron in the top of the seventh with two outs. Facing the top of Missouri’s lineup, Herron forced a groundout to Hannah Gammill at third base to close out the game.

The Hogs outhit Missouri at a 6-5 clip led by Cylie Halvorson’s 2-for-3 day that included a team-high two RBI, a solo home run and a double. Arkansas overcame a 1-0 deficit in the fifth after Halvorson and Nia Carter – who blasted her first career home run – catapulted back-to-back solo homers in the bottom of the fifth to put the Razorbacks in front 2-1.

Hannah Gammill logged her fifth multi-hit performance this season after finishing 2-for-3 with a double and RBI single. Reagan Johnson went 1-for-3 with an infield single to third in the third.

Arkansas hits the road to No. 25 South Carolina Friday through Sunday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Friday’s series opener between the Razorbacks and Gamecocks is slated for 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
