Over $70,000 had been collected for tornado victims in Baxter County as of Friday evening, and according to reports, more money was still coming in.
The money was being collected during two fundraising events as several local businesses partnered with food suppliers to sponsor a fundraising lunch and dinner. The lunch event was held at ERA Doty Real Estate, and 1,000 chicken lunches were sold. The dinner event and live auction were held later in the evening at the Baxter County Fair Grounds.
Proceeds from the events will benefit victims of the May 26 tornado.
