Record breaking rainfall overnight into Wednesday morning has cause major flooding around the area with the City of Yellville seeing many flooded businesses, roads and residences.The barber shop in downtown Yelville right near the town branch has been a local gathering spot in the community since 1935 and current owner Shawn Beaver says they saw 3 feet of water in the shop Wednesday morning. Beaver says he realized pretty early he had a major problem and that flooding like this hasn’t happened since the Harrison floods of 1961.

The plan is to have the shop open again by Friday. Shawn says he has a lot of clean up ahead of him as he works to restore the iconic Yellville business.
