On Wednesday, Mountain Home City Council member Paige Dillard Evans, announced she would not be seeking reelection for another term. Evans has served as Ward 3 Position 1 on the Mountain Home City Council for the last five and a half years.

In her statement, Evans says, “I am thankful for the overwhelming support in the last election and appreciate the trust you put in me to represent you. My love for this city and what it stands for runs deep in my heart. I’ve had a very unique perspective from watching both city and county government since the very young age of 10 years old in Baxter County and the city of Mountain Home. Maintaining our small town character as well as growing organically has been very important to me in decisions I’ve made as a council member.

After much prayer, I have made the very difficult decision to not run for my position again. I am proud of my efforts in holding government accountable, supporting our wonderful city employees, advocating on behalf of transparency in government and spending your tax dollars wisely. Standing up for property rights and being vocal in many efforts that have been brought to me by the members of this community are things that have brought me great joy.

Again, it has been an honor and I look forward to seeing you out and about in this beautiful place we are blessed to call home.”
