A 6-year-old Missouri child died Friday morning after falling off a kneeboard and getting caught by a boat propeller in Table Rock Lake. The unidentified male from Carthage was pronounced dead just after 11 by a Taney County deputy coroner.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the juvenile was riding the kneeboard behind a motorboat operated by 31-year-old Bethany Roy of Carthage. They were south of Hollister in Clevenger Cove when the child fell off the kneeboard. As Roy attempted to return to the male, he reportedly swam toward the rear of the boat and got caught by the propeller as it was still in reverse.
The highway patrol reports the juvenile was wearing a life jacket.
