Welfare check at Mayflower church finds two bodies in parked vehicle on Tuesday

An investigation is underway in Mayflower after police found two people dead during a “welfare check” at a church on Tuesday.

Authorities found the bodies of a man and a woman in the parking lot at the First Baptist Church of Mayflower. Officials said the two appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.

Officials did not initially say if this case was being investigated as a homicide. This is a developing story.
