Wednesday marked the first day candidates could file for candidacy for local races in the 2024 general election on November 5.
In Marion County, nine candidates submitted their paperwork to be placed on the ballot.
In Bull Shoals, Misty Zucco and Philip Friese filed for mayor, Michael Howell filed for Ward 2 Position 2 and incumbent Dale Forbus filed for Ward 1 Position 3.
In Flippin, incumbents Jodi Howard filed for Ward 1 Position 2, Lacie Bettencourt filed for Ward 1 Position 1 and Margaret Ott filed for Ward 2 Position 1.
And in Yellville, incumbent Lorna Goodwin filed for Ward 2 Position 2 and Maggie Davenport filed for Ward 3 Position 1.
