
Monday’s city council election filings in Marion County resulted in the race for Bull Shoals mayor growing to five candidates, and five races have developed for the city council.
Travis Fancher is the newest candidate to run for Bull Shoals mayor. He will square off against incumbent Carol Duss, Misty Zucco, Phillip Friese and Terry Danla. Duss was appointed to the position in April following the resignation of Michael Savu.
In the Bull Shoals City Council races, incumbent Joey Grede will be challenged by Randal Bolen for Ward 1, Position 2; Ward 2, Position 1 council member Michael Castagna will face challenger Russell Meinking; Brenna Ferrell and Michael Howell will challenge current Ward 2, Position 2 council member Dino Giannini; Ward 3, Position 1 incumbent Dale Forbus will square off against challenger Nancy Jo Pucci; and current council member Wesley Phelan will be challenged by Kevin Hutchinson for Ward 3, Position 2. Ward 1, Position 1 council member Daryl Lindman has also filed for reelection, and he is currently the lone council member with no opposition.
The deadline to file for city positions in Arkansas is noon Wednesday.
