A Harrison man has been arrested for forcing a woman into his vehicle and not letting her out despite her pleas to let her go. Thirty-eight-year-old Jackie Ray Glover is facing two charges in the case, including kidnapping, which is a class Y felony, the most serious crime in Arkansas not punishable by the death penalty.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim had met Glover a few days earlier at a mutual friend’s house. She told police they were not in a relationship, but Glover began to get possessive for no reason and asked her that day who she was having sex with.
Later that day, Glover showed up and was screaming outside and revving his engine. The victim stepped outside to ask Glover to stop and she says that is when he forced her into his vehicle and started driving. She told police she kept pleading for Glover to stop but he wouldn’t, so she jumped out of the vehicle at a stop light and called 911.
She was able to video part of the crime and was able to show it to officers. The video shows Glover screaming and cursing at the victim and the victim begging for him to pull over and let her out.
Glover is facing felony counts of kidnapping and aggravated assault. He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center on bonds totaling $50,000.
