The Baxter County Fair Parade will be held this Saturday morning at 10. The parade will start at Long Chiropractic located at 506 Hospital Drive and will be led by the Baxter County Fair Queen, Mackenzi Clark. All entries must be in line for judging at 9:45 and there is no registration required to enter the parade.
Those participating in the parade, including those riding on floats, in marching bands, or other organizations should be mindful of drop off locations. Officials state marching bands will line up by First Security Bank. Parents dropping off their child are asked to make arrangements ahead of time to meet with their groups at Arkansas Highway 178 and Buttercup Road by Cardiovascular Associates and then come as a group to the designated parade lineup location.
Officials say throwing candy is allowed, but ask participants to use discretion as safety is a priority.
Floats participating in the parade will be judged by category and only floats in the general and religious category will be judged. Political floats will be for exhibition only. Participants on horses, bicycles and children’s dress up will not be judged. First place in each division will receive $100, second place will receive $50.
