A Flippin man is accused of writing a $9,000 check on an account to a business on an account that couldn’t be located. Forty-six-year-old David Dougan was arrested Tuesday afternoon and is facing a felony count of theft of property.

According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, the arrest stems from an investigation into a complaint from a local business. Dougan allegedly submitted the check for payment on accounts established with the business for construction-related materials. The check was subsequently returned once it was discovered the account wasn’t found.

Dougan was released from the Marion County Law Enforcement Center nearly five hours after being booked on a bond of $25,000.
