1-vehicle accident results in minor injuries to 3 of 6 teenage occupants; driver faces citations

A vehicle with six teens reportedly crashed into a utility pole Sunday afternoon in Baxter County. Three passengers were transported to Baxter Health, and the driver is facing a pair of citations.

According to the crash report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was being driven on Jordan Road by a 16-year-old Gassville female. The driver stated she was distracted by one of her passengers. While she turned her back, the vehicle reportedly ran off the roadway and hit the pole.

A 16-year-old Mountain Home male and a 14-year-old Mountain Home female were transported by ambulance to Baxter Health with suspected minor injuries, and 14-year-old rural Mountain Home female went to the hospital by an unknown vehicle with what was termed a “possible injury.” In addition to the driver, a 14-year-old rural Norfork female and another 16-year-old Mountain Home male were able to avoid injury.

The driver is facing charges of careless and prohibited driving and a violation of driver’s license restrictions following the 3:58 p.m. accident. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
