A Harrison man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a man in the knee. Fifty-eight-year-old Randy Wynn is facing charges of battery and aggravated assault for the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on August 17, deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to North Arkansas Medical Center (NARMC) about a man receiving treatment for a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they made contact with the victim, who was being treated for a wound to his right knee. The victim stated he was on Wynn’s property, dropping off some of his girlfriend’s belongings, when Wynn came out and fired a gun at him. He alleged Wynn told him, “That was your warning shot,” and proceeded to shoot him in the right knee before firing off two more shots. The vi tim said his girlfriend then took Wynn down to prevent him from firing another shot.
Deputies then made contact with the victim’s girlfriend in the waiting room. According to her, the victim had been on the property since around 7:30 in the morning. As the victim was about to leave, she heard five gunshots fired. She went outside to find the victim lying on the ground and Wynn walking towards him. Believing Wynn was going to use the last bullet as a “headshot,” she jumped him and took him to the ground.
Wynn was booked into the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, where he is facing one felony count of aggravated assault and one felony count of first-degree battery. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
