Sex offender moves from city limits of Mountain Home to rural Baxter County

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public a sex offender who previously registered with the Mountain Home Police Department has recently moved out of the city and is now residing in rural Baxter County.

According to Sheriff John Montgomery, 51-year-old Robert Crokin resides at 8011 Highway 5 South, Lot 20 in Mountain Home.

Crokin has been assessed as a Level 2 offender with a moderate risk to re-offend. He offender convicted in Kane County, Il. in December 1994 of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. Crokin was then convicted in Georgetown, Tx. in August 1999 for failure to register. In May 2003, Crokin was convicted for sexual assault of a child and sentenced to seven years imprisonment. He was again arrested in Kane County, Il. in October 2009 for failure to register. There is no disposition shown on the latest charge and available documentation does not provide any further details.

Crokin is not wanted by law enforcement at this time. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is the sheriff’s belief an informed public is a safer public. This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders. Citizen abuse will not be tolerated. Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
