The Mountain Home High School football team was able to overcome several mistakes, including three turnovers in the first half, to get the win on homecoming night. The Bombers defeated Siloam Springs 37-15 on Friday.

Mountain Home nearly got on the board 5 1/2 minutes into the game when Jacob Chenowith looked like he might have a 64-yard touchdown run, but he was tackled short of the goal line. The officials said he fumbled the ball, and it went through the back of the end zone for a touchback. The Bombers finally struck first with over two minutes left in the opening period on a 26-yard keeper by Barrett Miller. The Bombers extended their lead further nearly five minutes into the second quarter when Chenowith broke several tackles for a 45-yard touchdown run. Mountain Home had another fumble deep in their territory with over minute left, and the Panthers recovered the ball at the 4. Ryan Estacio ran it in on the next play to put Siloam Springs on the board.

The Bombers added to their lead almost three minutes into the second half on a 28-yard field goal by Isaac Ballard. Jacob Chenowith put Mountain Home further up nearly seven minutes later on an 11-yard run. The Bombers scored another touchdown early in the final period on a 16-yard quarterback draw play by Miller. Gaige Wilson was put in at quarterback for Mountain Home in the final minutes on the game, and added to the lead with less than a minute left on a 10-yard keeper. The Panthers put up one more score before the game ended on a two-play drive. Mason Short had a 71-yard carry followed by a seven-yard touchdown run, and Siloam Springs added a two-point conversion for the final score of the game.

The Bombers ended up with 464 rushing yards on 63 carries. On defense, they recorded 12 tackles for lost yardage.

Mountain Home improves to 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in the 6A-West. The Panthers fall to 2-5 and 0-4.

The Bombers will have their longest road trip of the regular season next week when they go to Pearcy to meet Lake Hamilton.
