
The Yellville-Summit High School football team was able to wrap up its season on a winning note. The Panthers defeated Episcopal Collegiate on Senior Night by a final of 35-14. Yellville-Summit concludes the year at 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the 3A-2.
Izard County finished its season with its first ever victory of 11-man football. The Cougars tripled up Marianna 42-14. Izard County ends up at 1-9 on the season and 1-6 in the 2A-2.
Melbourne will enter the Class 3A State Playoffs on a four-game winning streak. The Bearkatz edged out Mountain View 10-7. Melbourne concludes the regular season at 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the 3A-2 to finish as co-runners-up. The Yellowjackets’ season ends at 4-6 and 2-5.
Harrison ended its season with a win in front of the home crowd. The Goblins doubled up Pea Ridge 34-17. Harrison improves to 2-8 on the year and 2-5 in the 5A-West.
West Plains’ postseason opener ended with the team advancing to the championship game of the Class 4, District 6 Playoffs. After having a first round bye, the top-seeded Zizzers were able to get past Logan-Rogersville 34-27. West Plains is now 7-3 on the season, and they’ll host Bolivar for the district title next week.
Forsyth was able to pick up its second postseason win in the semifinals of the Class 3, District 6 Playoffs. The Panthers squeaked by East Newton 31-28. Forsyth improves to 7-4 on the year, and they’ll be on the road for the championship game next week against top-seeded Seneca.
Branson remains undefeated after its first game in the Class 5, District 6 Playoffs. The top-seeded Pirates breezed past Springfield Glendale 50-29. Branson, now 10-0 on the season, will stay home for next week’s district championship game against Republic.
