
Thursday will be a busy day for basketball, and it includes the start of the Mountain Home High School boys playing road games on back-to-back nights. The Bombers will be in northwest Arkansas for an outing with Rogers.
Mountain Home is currently 1-1 on the season. The Bombers’ last game was Tuesday when they picked up a 15-point win over Paragould at the FedEx Forum, the home venue for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.
The junior varsity game tips off at 5. The varsity contest begins around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
The Arvest Bank Tournament continues at Flippin with its semifinal rounds.
The winners bracket games will be held in the new gym. On the girls’ side, Marshall and Rural Special tip off at 4, and Norfork meets the host Lady Bobcats at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Flippin faces Marshall at 5:30, and Yellville-Summit takes on Timbo at 8:30.
The consolation semifinals will be played in the old gym. In the girls’ games, Omaha and Kingston get underway at 4, and Yellville-Summit plays Alpena at 7. On the boys’ side, Cotter meets Rural Special at 5:30, and Norfork faces Lead Hill at 8:30.
Both of the Jasper High School teams will continue action in the First Service Bank Classic at Clinton. The Lady Pirates take on Wonderview in the consolation semifinals at 4. Jasper’s boys will wrap up pool play as they will be matched up with the host Yellowjackets at 7:45.
Elsewhere on the high school level, Calico Rock travels to Concord, Salem will send three girls’ teams to Highland, Valley Springs makes the trip to Berryville.
All of Mountain Home’s junior high squads will be in Paragould for an outing with Greene County Tech. The seventh grade girls’ game tips off at 4 followed by the seventh grade boys, both eighth grade games and both freshman contests.
In other junior high basketball, Viola heads to Brockwell to play Izard County, and Harrison hosts Shiloh Christian for three boys’ games.
