
The Arvest Bank Tournament began its consolation bracket games on Wednesday.
Cotter’s boys were able to advance to the consolation semifinals. The Warriors eliminated Omaha from the tournament with a 60-28 decision.
Cotter’s next opponent on Thursday will be Rural Special. The Rebels dominated Alpena by a final of 84-41.
Norfork also moved on to the next round of the consolation bracket. The Panthers defeated Mount Judea 48-27.
Lead Hill will be Norfork’s next opponent after they breezed past Kingston 87-60. The Tigers had two players with double doubles as Noah Royce led the way with 34 points and 15 rebounds, and Dawson Lively scored 12 points and dished out 12 assists. Nolan Turner added 14 points for Lead Hill.
Cotter ended up getting eliminated from the girls’ bracket. The Lady Warriors suffered a 60-49 defeat at the hands of Omaha.
The Lady Eagles’ next opponent in the consolation semifinals will be Kingston. Lead Hill fell to the Lady Yellowjackets by a score of 62-22.
Yellville-Summit was the winner of the last girls’ game of the night. The Lady Panthers bounced Mount Judea from the tournament with a 74-26 victory.
Yellville-Summit will next be paired with Alpena on Thursday. Timbo lost to the Lady Leopards 59-16.
Two area girls’ teams played their second games in the First Service Bank Classic at Clinton.
Valley Springs advanced to the championship game of the consolation bracket as they edged out Bigelow 65-62. The Lady Tigers were led by Macy Willis with 21 points, and Tayla Trammell chipped in 16.
Harrison was defeated in the semifinals and sent to Saturday’s third place game. The Lady Goblins fell to Greers Ferry West Side 57-35.
