Monday basketball schedule includes all MH junior high teams hosting Paragould

Basketball makes up the local Monday schedule and includes all of Mountain Home’s junior high teams being in front of the home crowd as they meet Paragould on the high school campus. In the Hangar, the seventh grade girls’ game tips off at 4 followed by the eighth grade girls and both freshman contests. The seventh grade boys will start at 4 in the auxiliary gym, and the eighth grade boys will follow.

Elsewhere on the junior high level, Marshall hosts Shirley, Bergman travels to Valley Springs, Harrison entertains Bentonville, and Jasper is home against Dover.

Two area high school teams will play their openers in Battle of the Border Tournament at Mammoth Spring. Calico Rock’s boys face Couch at 5:45, and the Viola girls take on Couch at 7.

The Izard County Invitational Basketball Tournament will continue at Melbourne. The junior girls’ game between Izard County and Highland tips off at 4, the Izard County junior boys play Melbourne at 5, Melbourne’s senior girls will be paired with Cave City at 6, and the Izard County senior boys meet Cave City at 7:15.

Both Mountain View teams will begin action in the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Basketball Tournament at Batesville. The Lady Yellowjackets face Southside Batesville at 6, and Mountain View’s boys take on Cedar Ridge at 7:15.

Bergman’s boys will compete in their opener in the Green Forest Holiday Tournament. The Panthers play Huntsville at 5.

In other high school basketball, the Bakersfield girls host Cabool.
