
High school basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule and includes the start of 5A-West action for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will renew one of the state’s oldest rivalries as they meet Harrison.
Mountain Home’s girls, who are ranked second in Class 5A and fourth overall by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, are currently 14-2 on the season. The Lady Bombers’ last game was Dec. 28 when they defeated North Little Rock in the championship game of the Atlas Asphalt Basketball Tournament. Harrison has a record of 9-7. The Lady Goblins picked up a five-point win over Bentonville West Friday at Centerton.
The Mountain Home boys begin league play with a mark of 10-6. The Bombers wrapped up the Atlas Asphalt Basketball Tournament by losing to Farmington in the title game. Harrison is 13-4 on the year. The Goblins suffered a one-point defeat to Bentonville West on Friday.
The junior varsity games at Bomber Gymnasium begin at 5. The varsity contests start around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Russellville travels to Alma, Farmington makes the trip to Siloam Springs, and Van Buren heads to Greenwood.
Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Imboden to face Sloan-Hendrix, Norfork hosts Greers Ferry West Side, Flippin entertains Bergman, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Mountain View, Viola heads to Koshkonong, Calico Rock travels to Pleasant Plains to take on Midland, Gainesville’s boys make the trip to Thayer, Salem is home against Cave City, Izard County heads to Tuckerman, the Dora boys travel to Alton, Melbourne hosts Valley Springs, Marshall makes the trip to Newark to play Cedar Ridge, Timbo entertains Shirley, Lead Hill heads to Kingston, Omaha is home against Jasper, and Ozark Mountain travels to Decatur.
