Mountain Home man arrested in southeast Missouri on New York felony warrant for rape of child

A Mountain Home man has been arrested in the bootheel of Missouri on a warrant out of New York for the rape of a child. Being held in the Mississippi County Jail in Charleston, Missouri is 43-year-old Christopher Thomas Quaile. He is awaiting extradition back to New York. Quaile was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

New York State Police tell KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News the victim was 14-years-old. The incident happened in August of 2023. The case was presented to a grand jury which handed down a felony indictment of second degree rape and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Quaile has one arrest in Baxter County. In 2010, he was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender after moving from New York. According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, he had come in to register, but during the process, it was determined he had been living in the county too long before registering. The case was nolle prossed, meaning it was dismissed.
