
A yearlong investigation by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents from the 3rd and 16th Drug Task Forces and officers with the Cave City Police Department, led to the execution of a search warrant in Cave City, resulting in three arrests.
On January 29, officers served the warrant at a residence on Blackstone Street, where they arrested Thomas Brandin Corter, Kristin Joelle Malatin, and Brandy Lynn Straecener. Corter and Malatin were each charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premises within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone. Straecener was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug premises within 1,000 feet of a drug-free zone.
The same day, investigators executed a second search at a location on Flat Rock Road, where Zane Butler Turner was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a drug premises.
The operation resulted in the criminal and civil seizure of 23 grams of methamphetamine, 27 grams of opium, one firearm and one vehicle.
