
The Mountain Home Bombers junior high basketball teams wrapped up their regular season Thursday night, hosting Batesville at The Hangar. The evening featured a slate of competitive matchups, highlighted by strong performances from both the Lady Bombers and Bombers teams.
The Mountain Home seventh-grade girls secured a hard-fought 24-20 victory over Batesville. Samira Gassama led the charge with 9 points, while Ryleigh Applegate contributed 6. The win capped off their season with an overall record of 8-11.
In junior high JV action, the Lady Bombers dominated Batesville, winning 25-13. Bella McCracken had a standout performance, scoring 13 points, with Ashley Smith adding 7.
The junior high varsity Lady Bombers fought hard but came up just short in a 26-28 loss to Batesville. Evelyn Marks led the team with 10 points, while Macy Farris and Addison McCarn chipped in with 6 and 5 points, respectively. The Lady Bombers finished their season with a 7-11 overall record and a 6-8 mark in conference play.
The seventh-grade boys faced a tough challenge, falling to Batesville 22-52. The eighth-grade boys also came up short, losing 24-36. Meanwhile, the eighth-grade girls secured a solid 25-13 win over Batesville.
In freshman action, the Lady Bombers battled hard but fell just short in a 26-28 loss. The Bombers freshman boys also had a close contest but were edged out 38-43. Jonathan Krueger and Max Bryant led in scoring with 12 and 9 points respectively.
