
Friday’s high school basketball schedule includes the annual Sweetheart Royalty Night for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will begin a two-game home stand by welcoming Russellville to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently third in Class 5A and ninth overall in the latest Arkansas Sports Media rankings. The Lady Bombers are 20-4 on the season and 6-2 in the 5A-West following a dominating win at Harrison. Russellville is 7-17 and 2-6 as they come off a win over Alma. Mountain Home defeated the Lady Cyclones 72-54 on Jan. 27.
The Bomber boys are 12-12 overall and 2-6 in the league after beating Harrison on Tuesday. Russellville lost to Alma to fall to 18-7 and 4-4. Mountain Home came up just short in a 54-50 loss at Russellville a week-and-a-half ago.
The Sweetheart Royalty court will be presented between the varsity games, and the king and queen will be crowned. In addition, the Sweetheart Food Drive will be held in conjuction with the festivities for the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Attendees are asked to bring in-date canned and non-perishable food items and juices to the games. Barrels will be available at Bomber Gymnasium to place the donations in.
The girls’ game tips off at 6 followed by the boys’ contest. Both games will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison travels to Greenwood, Farmington makes the trip to Alma, and Siloam Springs hosts Van Buren.
Elsewhere, Cotter heads to Viola, Norfork entertains Crowley’s Ridge Academy, Flippin travels to Salem, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Cave City, Bakersfield is home against Couch, Gainesville’s boys head to Norwood, Melbourne hosts Mountain View, Marshall entertains Lead Hill for Senior Night, Timbo is home against Wonderview, Rural Special hosts Clinton, Bergman travels to Valley Springs, Ozark Mountain entertains Eureka Springs, and Jasper is home against Kingston for Senior Night. In addition, Omaha will have its Senior Night as its two boys’ teams play Deer, and the senior girls face Mount Judea.
