There is junior high basketball scheduled for Saturday as both of Mountain Home’s freshman teams will be among those beginning postseason play. Both teams will be in West Memphis for the start of the Northeast Arkansas District Tournament. The Junior Lady Bombers will meet West Memphis West at Lehr Arena, and Mountain Home’s boys take on Marion at the Devil Dome. Both games tip off at 1.
Mammoth Spring will be the site of the 2A-2 Junior District Tournament. Action begins at 11 with both of Marshall’s teams facing Tuckerman. The Cotter girls play Cedar Ridge at 1, Izard County’s boys will be paired with Cedar Ridge at 2, and both Mammoth Spring teams go up against Sloan-Hendrix starting with the girls at 3.
The 1A-2 Junior District Tournament will get underway at Concord. On the girls’ side, Norfork and Viola will tip off at 10, Rural Special meets Shirley at 12:20, Calico Rock faces Concord at 2:40, and Timbo takes on Greers Ferry West Side at 5. On the boys’ bracket, Viola plays Rural Special at 11:10, Norfork will be matched up with Concord at 1:30, and Calico Rock and Timbo are set for 3:50.
