Rilyn Robins
A local high school basketball player hit a milestone earlier this season that is considered a rare feat. When Flippin senior Rilyn Robins finishes his career as a Bobcat, he will end up with over 2,000 career points.
Robins reached the 2,000 mark Dec. 13 in Flippin’s 60-49 victory over Yellville-Summit. He tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot Sports he didn’t realize he hit the milestone that night.
Listen:
Robins is helping to lead a Bobcat team that is currently 25-8 on the season. While Flippin has not made the Class 3A top five in the Arkansas Sports Media rankings, they have received votes from members of the panel.
Robins says he has made it his mission to continue improving as an athlete for two reasons. He says he wants to see his team get as far as they can in the postseason, and he would like to continue playing basketball on the collegiate level.
Listen:
While the Bobcats have high aspirations, Robins says he also knows the best approach is to take it one game at a time.
Listen:
Robins is not certain of his future plans after he graduates from high school. He has received an offer to play basketball at National Park College in Hot Springs.
