A Marion County man recently returned home to find a woman sleeping in his bed and food removed from his kitchen, but unlike the fairytale, this woman was not Goldilocks. Arrested following the incident was 44-year-old Lisa Edmiston of Yellville.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened Jan. 28. The homeowner told deputies when he returned home, he noticed one of the closets in the living room was open and items had been pulled out onto the floor.
Not knowing if someone was still in the house or not, the homeowner went to his bedroom to get his gun. When he entered his bedroom, Edmiston was asleep in his bed. He got her out of the house and held her at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.
Deputies noted each room had items pulled onto the floor and cabinets had been gone through. Food had been removed from the kitchen and spread throughout the home and eggs smashed on the floor. Pill bottles were opened and spilled throughout the house.
Edmiston is facing felony counts of residential burglary and criminal mischief. Her bond on those charges is set at $10,000.
Edmiston has an open case in Marion County Circuit Court from another home invasion last May.
In that incident, she allegedly broke into a man’s home and stole a broom. He shoved her out the door and called 911.
As the deputy was arriving, he spotted Edmiston walking in the area and the victim pointing at her. The deputy approached Edmiston who dropped her backpack, threw a bird feeder at the deputy and then took off running. The deputy captured her following a short pursuit. After being placed in the patrol car, she admitted she had taken methamphetamine.
In that incident, Edmiston was charged with a felony charge of residential burglary and misdemeanor charges of fleeing, criminal trespass, theft of property and public intoxication.
Her next court date is the week of April 1.
