The Bombers came from behind to take the boys’ game over the Panthers 66-59. After Mountain Home scored the first two points of the game, they wouldn’t have the lead again until the final quarter. The Bombers missed every attempt from the arc in the first half, but they were only down three at the break. Things changed in the second half as Mountain Home hit 10 three-pointers, but Siloam Springs seemed to match everything the Bombers were throwing up in the third quarter. When Mountain Home got their lead in the next period, they held onto it as they outscored the Panthers 23-10.

Rhett Gilbert led the Bombers with 18 points, Blaine Tate scored 16, Ryder McClain had 14, and Tyler Podwoski added 10 points. Darien Caldwell provided 18 points for Siloam Springs, Stewart Schwaninger recorded 14, AJ Moore finished with 11, and Evan Allen ended up with 10 points.

Mountain Home improves to 13-13 on the season and 3-7 in the 5A-West. The Panthers drop to 10-15 and 1-9.

The Lady Bombers also defeated Siloam Springs 56-46. Mountain Home, who was playing without Jayla Yonkers due to an injury, came out scoring the first 12 points of the contest. However, the Lady Panthers stayed in the game as they outscored the Lady Bombers 18-11 in the second quarter and were only down six at halftime. Mountain Home was able to keep their lead for the entire game in part because they outrebounded Siloam Springs 28-12, and the Lady Panthers shot a total of two free throws.

The Lady Bombers were led by Laykin Moore and Livi Fosness with 15 points each, and Brooklyn Mitchell chipped in 12. Emily Sears scored 10 points for Siloam Springs.

Mountain Home is now 22-4 overall and 8-2 in the league. The Lady Panthers fall to 8-18 and 1-9.

Both Bomber teams return to the road on Friday for an outing with Van Buren.

In other 5A-West girls’ action, Harrison lost to Farmington 81-34, Van Buren beat Russellville 59-38, and Greenwood routed Alma 80-34. In the boys’ games, Harrison got past Farmington 48-40, Russellville squeaked by Van Buren 55-54, and Alma topped Greenwood 57-50.
