While we didn’t see snow showers on Wednesday, the Twin Lakes area did experience significant rainfall in the morning leading into the later afternoon hours.
As we gear up for a night with low temperatures reaching 17 degrees and wind chill values getting as low as 10, many residents are curious as to what that will mean for road conditions tonight and tomorrow morning.
KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News reached out to National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologist John Lewis and he says that road conditions shouldn’t be much of a concern thanks to a little help from some gusty northwest winds.

John Lewis:
The wind’s gonna kick up tonight and create wind chills that’ll be well into the teens, to around maybe ten degrees. Some parts of northwest Arkansas will be flirting with around zero degrees. But as the wind kicks up, it’ll tend to dry the pavement off. So if you have wet roads now, a lot of that’s gonna disappear overnight.
You might have some puddling in places and maybe some slick spots in the morning, but it’s not like it’s gonna be a sheet of ice.
