
The Cotter High School basketball teams had a rough Senior Night as they were swept by Jasper. The Warriors lost the boys’ game to the Pirates 62-54. Cotter also fell to Jasper in the girls’ contest 49-31.
Norfork ended up getting swept on Izard County’s Senior Night.
The Lady Panthers lost to the Lady Cougars 72-43. Quinn Johnson was Izard County’s top scorer with 31 points, and Olivia Spray had 18. The Lady Cougars’ record improves to 22-4.
Norfork did not fare any better in the boys’ game as they fell to Izard County 68-37. Kade Yancey paced the Cougars with 19 points, and Gabe Spray provided 14. Izard County improves to 20-9 on the year.
Yellville-Summit was able to pull off a sweep at Kingston. The Panthers took the boys’ game over the Yellowjackets 69-57. Yellville-Summit also won the girls’ contest 66-61.
Both of Viola’s teams suffered defeats on the road. The Lady Longhorns ended up losing to Tuckerman 57-30. The Viola boys went across the state line and fell to Winona 66-44.
Calico Rock had mixed results as they hosted Maynard. The Pirates were able to defeat the Tigers 73-60 in the boys’ game. Calico Rock had a different result in the girls’ contest as they fell to Maynard 55-37.
Gainesville’s boys were able to invoke the mercy rule on their Senior Night. The Bulldogs pounded Fordland 76-43.
Salem split its high school games with Mammoth Spring. The Lady Greyhounds beat the Lady Bears 47-26. Salem was not as fortunate in the boys’ game as they lost to Mammoth Spring 51-43.
Dora had mixed results in its games with Van Buren, Mo. The Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Dawgs 62-57. The boys’ game had a different result as Dora fell to Van Buren 79-65.
Melbourne ended up getting swept by Bergman on Senior Night. The Lady Bearkatz were edged out by the Lady Panthers 65-62. Melbourne also lost the boys’ game to Bergman 72-54.
Marshall was swept in a pair of games that went down to the wire at South Side-Bee Branch. The Bobcats fell to the boys’ game to the Hornets 63-62. Marshall also lost to South Side in overtime 70-67.
Timbo split its games at Omaha. The Tigers took the boys’ game over the Eagles 53-44. Timbo ended up losing the girls’ contest to Omaha 62-30.
Lead Hill had mixed results with Ozark Mountain at Western Grove.
The Tigers topped the Bears 60-52 in the boys’ game. Lead Hill was led by Noah Royce with 21 points, Brett Arnold recorded 13, Coda Lemon finished with 11 points, and Nolan Turner grabbed 10 rebounds.
The girls’ game did not go as well for Lead Hill. The Lady Tigers fell to Ozark Mountain 78-34.
