MHHS basketball teams travel to Greenwood; girls’ game to decide 2nd place

The Mountain Home High School basketball teams will wrap up the regular season on Friday. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be in Greenwood with the girls’ game deciding the conference runners-up.

Mountain Home’s girls, currently ranked third in Class 5A and ninth overall by the Arkansas Sports Media, is coming off a 29-point loss at Farmington. Lady Bombers’ head coach Dell Leonard says his team was upset with themselves after the game.

Mountain Home and Greenwood are currently tied for second place in the 5A-West with conference records of 10-3. The Lady Bombers are 24-5 overall. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 16-11 on Tuesday when they put up 99 points against Russellville.

Leonard says whatever the outcome, he expects it to be a good game.

The Mountain Home boys are currently 13-16 overall and 3-10 in the league. The Bombers suffered an 18-point loss at Farmington earlier this week. Greenwood is 14-14 and 4-9. The Bulldogs fell to Russellville on Tuesday.

The junior varsity games tip off at 5 at H.B. Stewart Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.

Elsewhere in the 5A-West, Harrison hosts Russellville, Farmington travels to Van Buren, and Siloam Springs makes the trip to Alma.
