There is high school basketball scheduled for Tuesday as state tournaments begin in Arkansas.
The Class 3A State Tournament gets underway on the south campus of North Arkansas College in Harrison. Bergman’s girls begin the tournament by meeting Lamar at 1. On the boys’ side, Flippin faces Lamar at 2:30, and Melbourne takes on Lincoln at 5:30.
The Class 2A State Tournament will start at Cedar Ridge High School in Newark. The girls’ game between Izard County and Ozark Mountain is scheduled for 7, and the Ozark Mountain boys play Cedar Ridge at 8:30.
Two area girls’ teams will play their opener in the Class 1A State Tournament at Trumann. Rural Special tips off with Wonderview at 1, and Jasper will be paired with Bearden at 7.
In Missouri, two area girls’ teams will square off in the opener of the Class 4, District 11 Tournament at Hollister. The host Lady Tigers face Forsyth at 6.
