High school students from around the region will visit ASU-Mountain Home Tuesday for Be Pro Be Proud’s Draft Day. Draft Day is a hands-on technical career event connecting Arkansas high school students with potential employers. The event will take place from 9 until noon and will feature representatives from 33 employers across the state who will meet with students from 27 regional high schools, conducting interviews based on student interests and skills identified through the YouScience Aptitude and Interest Assessment.

In addition to interviews, students will have the opportunity to explore career options through Be Pro Be Proud’s Mobile Workshop, an interactive experience featuring augmented reality demonstrations of in-demand skilled trades.

Be Pro Be Proud, an initiative led by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas, works to connect students with high-tech, high-paying careers to help address workforce shortages in skilled trades. The program launched in Arkansas in 2016 and has since expanded to multiple states.
