Izard County Lady Cougars seek to bring home 1st state championship in program history

The Izard County girls’ basketball team is headed to Hot Springs on Thursday to face off against Barton for the Class 2A state championship. The Lady Cougars have had an outstanding season with a current record of 31-4. They will play at noon at Bank OZK Arena. Izard County is making its first appearance in program history.

Harmon also took the Izard County boys team to the state championship in 2008. He explains how much of a privilege it is to have the opportunity to coach in another state championship game.

The Class 2A girls game kicks off the start of a three day stretch of state championship basketball games. All of the games in Hot Springs will be televised by Arkansas PBS.
