For the second time in this state championship week, a team went to Hot Springs undefeated and left with their only loss of the season. De Queen’s girls captured the Class 4A crown on Friday with a 62-54 win over Pulaski Academy.
Shalyn Lyle won the game’s MVP award as she scored 11 points for the Lady Leopards. Also for De Queen, Emma Chambers led the way with 13 points, Jessie Lyle had 12, Landri Liggin added 11 points, and Ellie Morphew grabbed 12 rebounds. Greenlee Elmore recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Bruins, and Randi Stewart chipped in 16 points.
The Lady Leopards end their season at 35-1. PA falls to 36-1.
