Tyson Relays results include runner-up finishes for Yellville-Summit girls, Marshall boys

Several high school track athletes went to Green Forest on Thursday for the Tyson Relays. Both of the team titles were captured by Clinton.

On the girls’ side, Yellville-Summit took second place, Omaha finished fourth, Flippin was fifth, Bergman ended up seventh, Cotter took eighth place, Norfork finished 13th, and Marshall was 14th.

Fay Chism of Yellville-Summit prequalified for the state meet as she won the pole vault, and she also ended up second in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and third in the 200-meter dash. In addition, Autumn Loomis of Flippin won the high jump; Yellville-Summit’s Bailey Ervin won the 400-meter dash and took second place in the 200-meter dash and third in the long jump, the triple jump and the 100-meter dash; Bergman’s Jacey Halitzka won the shot put; Riley Hopson of Omaha won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs; Cotter’s Ellesandra Lee finished second in the discus; Flippin’s Kenna Greenhaw was second in the shot put; Alyssa Shelton of Flippin ended up second in the 3200-meter run; Cotter’s Izzy Wilhite took third place in the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run; Heavenlea Nalley of Flippin finished third in the discus; and Bergman’s Kinsley See was third in the high jump. Omaha’s team of Brooklyn Stone, Kadien Gilbert, Nora Rantz and Morgan Schmidt won the 4×200-meter relay and ended up second in the 4×100-meter relay; Avery West, Halitzka, Eukirah West and Keira Keys of Bergman took third place in the 4×200-meter relay; Bergman’s West, Reese Elsberry, See and Keys finished third in the 4×100-meter relay; and Gilbert, Hopson, Anastasia Johnson and Alecia Mott of Omaha were third in the 4×400-meter relay.

In the boys’ team standings, Marshall ended up second, Flippin took fifth place, Yellville-Summit finished eighth, Omaha was 10th, Norfork ended up 12th, and Ozark Mountain took 13th place.

Individually, Flippin’s Kolby Hurst won the high jump, Caleb Steward of Yellville-Summit won the 300-meter hurdles and finished second in the long jump and the 110-meter hurdles, Toby Campbell of Marshall won the shot put, Marshall’s Jake Massey won the 200-meter dash and was second in the 100-meter dash, Blayne Thompson of Flippin ended up third in the long jump, Flippin’s Braydon Sumpter took third place in the 3200-meter run; Marshall’s Tate Kelley finished third in the triple jump, Avan Rafee of Marshall was third in the 300-meter hurdles, and Jonathan McKinney of Omaha ended up third in the 110-meter hurdles. Flippin’s team of Sumpter, Colin English, Rene Rascon and Thompson won the 4×800-meter relay; Dylann Miller, Gregor Lichtblau, Rafee and Kelley of Marshall took second place; and Canton Cobb, Canaan Darnell, Sebestian Phillips and Guillaume Schicks of Yellville-Summit finished third. Marshall’s Timothy Martin, Matthew Horton, Kelley and Massey won the 4×200-meter relay; Izaak Szitar, Horton, Mason Gregg and Martin of Marshall won the 4×100-meter relay; and Flippin’s Thompson, English, Rascon and Sumpter were third in the 4×400-meter relay.
