Greers Ferry West Side girls beat Earle for 1st state title in 30 years

The last girls’ basketball state championship was captured by a program whose last title came 30 years ago. Greers Ferry West Side won the Class 1A game over Earle 63-49.

Ashlynn Cossey won the MVP award as she led the Lady Eagles with 22 points and 14 rebounds, Kately Cornett scored 16 points, and Eden Murphee grabbed 13 boards. Jada Maples had 31 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.

West Side concludes the season with a record of 41-3.
