
Friday’s schedule includes the Mountain Home High School softball team wrapping up play in the Southern Warrior Classic at Murfreesboro, Tenn., as they meet a pair of teams from the Volunteer State. The Lady Bombers face Crockett County at 10 and South Gibson at noon.
A few other area schools will be begin a two-day run in the next Ozarks Softball Classic at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. At Cornerstone Field, Yellville-Summit takes on Walnut Ridge at 5:30, and Calico Rock plays Izard County at 7:15. At Ramsey Field, Valley Springs will be matched up with Magazine at 5:30, and Marshall meets Buffalo Island Central at 7:15.
Elsewhere on the softball schedule, Bakersfield travels to Couch, and Gainesville hosts Houston.
In high school baseball, the fifth-annual Forrest L. Wood Classic will come to an end at Flippin. Norfork and East Poinsett County get underway at noon, Highland takes on Heber Springs at 2, Flippin plays Green Forest at 4, and Salem will be paired with Izard County at 6.
Cotter’s baseball team will have its second game in the Clinch River Classic in Tennessee. The Warriors will play at Clinton at 5.
The inaugural Gainesville Baseball Tournament will start its two-day run on Friday. The host Bulldogs meet Thayer at 4:30, and Bakersfield faces Ava at 6:30.
Melbourne will be at Maumelle Charter High School for its second game in the eighth-annual Robinson Invitational. The Bearkatz take on Cross County at 12:30.
A few area teams will gather at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison for the next Ozarks Baseball Classic. On Pippin Field, Marshall and Valley Springs get started at 5:30, and Lead Hill plays Buffalo Island Central at 7:45. Harrison goes up against Forsyth on Jack Williams Field at 5:30.
Elsewhere, Dora entertains Alton.
