MH teams win BSN Junior Pioneer Relays at Batesville

Mountain Home’s junior high track teams had another successful day as they went to Batesville on Tuesday. Both Junior Bomber squads won the BSN Junior Pioneer Relays.

On the girls’ side, Melbourne finished second, Yellville-Summit was fourth, Rural Special ended up fifth, and Marshall took seventh place.

Individually for Mountain Home, Eliana Pepin won the 100-meter dash, the high jump and the triple jump; Brook Bertalotto won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs; Jocelyn Green won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and finished second in the triple jump; Joslin Haney won the discus throw; Ella Hampton won the 200-meter dash and was second in the long jump; Makenna Miller won the pole vault and ended up second in the 100-meter dash; Audrey Birkhimer took second place in the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump; Callie Kohler finished second in the 400-meter dash; Ashley Smith was second in the 1600-meter run; Audrey Hughes ended up second in the 100-meter hurdles; Makenzie Kotlowski took second place in the shot put; Jayden Jones finished second in the discus; Mayce Carlson was third in the 200-meter dash and the long jump; Eliana Johnson ended up third in the 400-meter dash; and Megan Hale took third place in the pole vault. The team of Pepin, Christieann Stickles, Hampton and Miller won the 4×100-meter relay; Landry Litty, Audrey Hughes, Maci Adkins and Addison McCarn won the 4×200-meter relay; Stickles, Kohler, Shayn Whickersham and Carlson won the 4×400-meter relay; and McCarn, Stickles, Smith and Whickersham won the 4×800-meter relay.

Among other area athletes, Emma Rush of Melbourne won the long jump and finished third in the triple jump, Marshall’s Miriam Beckwith won the 400-meter dash, fellow Lady Bobcat Ashley Buchanan won the shot put, Aubrey Warner of Melbourne was second in the 800-meter run, Melbourne’s Audrey Cone ended up second in the pole vault, Destiny Bruyette of Melbourne took third place in the shot put and the discus, and Melbourne’s Reagan Nicolson finished third in the high jump. Melbourne’s team of Nicolson, Cone, Harper Wheeler and Breckyn Procell Monger was second in the 4×200-meter relay; Rural Special’s Jocelyn Rushing, Marlee Richardson, Adalyn Berry and Natalie Newman ended up second in the 4×800-meter relay while Melbourne’s Ella Stewart, Rory Weston, Warner and Procell Monger took third place in the same event; Crystal Sosnowy, Khloe Gates, Krislynn Morrow and Emry Devore of Yellville-Summit finished third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Melbourne’s Nicolson, Rush, Cone and Wheeler were third in the 4×100-meter relay.

In the boys’ team results, Melbourne ended up third, Yellville-Summit took fourth place, Marshall finished fifth, and Rural Special was sixth.

For the Junior Bombers, Simeon Costner won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Brantley Gale won the 300-meter hurdles, William Tucker won the pole vault, Chris Leaming won the discus, Garret Watts won the high jump and ended up second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and third in the long jump, Ryan Cooper took second place in the 800-meter run, Colt Thomas finished second in the pole vault, Charles Nagrocki was second in the discus, Michael Gomez ended up tied for second place in the shot put, and Brody Rose took third place in the 400-meter dash. The team of Watts, Jeremiah Partee, Westin Potter and Mason Reppond won the 4×100-meter relay; Rose, Cooper, Oakley Recktenwald and Skylar Moore won the 4×800-meter relay; Kyler Caprisecca, Maddox McGlone, Jackson Gilbert and Potter finished second in the 4×200-meter relay; and Caprisecca, Gilbert, Gale and Ryan Trammell were second in the 4×400-meter relay.

In addition, Yellville-Summit’s Phoenix Fody won the shot put, Abe Cooper of Melbourne won the 110-meter hurdles and ended up second in the high jump and the triple jump, Yellville-Summit’s Tristen Barclay took second place in the 110-meter hurdles, Avery Hooper of Melbourne finished second in the shot put, Marshall’s Gavin Massey was second in the 1600-meter run, fellow Bobcat Lee Gray ended up second in the 400-meter dash and third in the 800-meter run, Dane Due of Yellville-Summit took third place in the discus, and Rural Special’s Jake Currie finished third in the 1600-meter run. Rural Special’s team of Mason Knapp, Conway Pagett, Wyatt Morrison and Currie was second in the 4×800-meter relay while Levi Chism, Tristen Barclay, Noah Romero and Tatum Dodillet of Yellville-Summit ended up third; Yellville-Summit’s Ryder Vandrimmelen, Troy Devore, Joseph Barclay and Cooper Morrow took third place in the 4×400-meter relay; Maddux Lawrence, Dominic McMichael, River Gulliver and Abe Cooper finished third in the 4×100-meter relay; and Melbourne’s Lawrence, McMichael, Gulliver and Easton Smith were third in the 4×200-meter relay.
