Some area highways reopen, others remain closed due to flooding

As some of the water has receded, some area highways remain closed due to flooding, while others have reopened.

IDriveArkansas.com is showing Arkansas Highway 395 from Salem to the state line has reopened after its closure this weekend. Elsewhere in Fulton County, one portion of Arkansas Highway 223 reopened. The southbound lane remains closed at South Brushy Creek due to a washout over a box culvert.

Two portions of Arkansas Highway 9 in Fulton County remain closed. One portion is .02 of a mile south of Salem between Wheeling and Union, and the other is .01 of a mile between Camp and Mammoth Spring.

In Searcy County, Arkansas Highway 333 remains closed from its junction with U.S. Highway 65 in Marshall and continuing south to the intersection with Arkansas Highway 27. A bridge on the highway was washed out, and local traffic is being directed to Highway 27 South.

Several highways remain closed in southern Missouri. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s traveler information map, closures in Ozark County include the entire roadway of Missouri Route T from its junction with Missouri Highway 5 to the intersection with Missouri Route J, a portion of Missouri Highway 142 in the middle of Bakersfield, Missouri Route H from its junction with U.S. Highway 160 to the intersection with Missouri Route PP, Missouri Highway 181 near the Sycamore Access and Missouri Highway 95 from Bryant Creek to Gentryville in Douglas County.

Closures in Howell County due to flooding include Missouri Highway 142 from Leota to Moody, a portion of Missouri Highway 17 south of West Plains, the majority of U.S. Highway 63 Business in West Plains, a portion of U.S. Highway 63 north of West Plains and a portion of Missouri Route K near Pottersville.

Douglas County closures include a portion of Missouri Route FF east of Ava at Hunter Creek and a portion of Missouri Route Y west of Ava at Cowskin Creek.
